In Amsterdam, DJ Desire was a dance instructor and performed as a back up dancer for various international and national artists. Even then, Desire knew Amsterdam was not going to be her only home. Her love for DJ-ing brought her to St Martin where she was offered a radio show, unfortunately she felt the tropical island was too small for her dreams, so she packed her bags and flew to NYC, where her best friend, DJ Licious lived.
In NYC, DJ Desire & DJ Licious hooked up with Prince Paul when they started dropping mixtapes and created a buzz as two female DJs from Amsterdam called Hypnotixx. This lead to numerous club gigs and high end parties in New York City including the Madonna and Miss Elliott GAP Campaign, Old Dirty Bastard's album release party, Mos Def's after party, Vibe Magazine, Trace Magazine and various jet set parties.
While DJ-ing all over New York, Desire wrote for an urban UK based magazine: Touch.
DJ Desire interviewed artists such as 50 cent, Sean Paul and Mario and established a great relationship with most of the record labels and artist management. It didn't stop there, while listening to NYC's biggest hiphop stations Hot 97 and Power 105.1, one of Desire's goals was to establish radio presence. She accomplished this in 2005 and got offered a show on Denver's biggest hiphop and R&B station KS 107.5. Knowledge & love for music eventually landed her a show on Mania TV, where she hosted Rapper's D-lite airing weekdays from 3-4pm ET on www.maniatv.com. Currently DJ Desire is a fulltime DJ and spins Club/Dance, Top 40 R&B/HipHop, 80's, Pop and reggae.
